Recent Champion race mares - what stallion lineage/s do they have ?

I suppose it's a fluke or a random chance that the following patterns suggest a lower number of Pharos is good if you want an elite race mare

So who is Pharos ?

I have generated a matrix, measuring each 3 stallion origins from the beginning and applied a nick or position number to each following son, so Darley Arabian is number 1 in his line as he is the origin whilst you can continue this nick to Pierata at no 30, both he and Levendi are the highest recorded nick in my charts of over 6000 entries.

Only 3 lines: Darley Arabian, Godolphin Arabian and Byerley Turk

In today's stallions, i use nick 19 as a significant point of variation for stallion lineage [this is the Pharos position on the line i refer to].

So that a shared chart does not become an encyclopedia, i have demonstrated the key nicks for each line as follows: Here is the Pharos nick at 19 within the full chart of nicks for the Darley Arabian Line:

  • [1] Darley Arabian

    • [6] Pot8os

      • [9] Sir Hercules

        • [11] The Baron

          • [15] Bona Vista [significant variation starts here]

          • [17] Polymelus [significant variation also here]

            • [19] Pharos [stallions at 20+ now recorded]

So when i refer to the Pharos Line, this is the last signifcant point at 19, before each future stallion has their own number. this is due to the wider array of stallions that have significantly generated a strong parentage to the stallions we have today

For example: 19. Pharos, 20. Nearco, 21. Nasrullah, 22. Bold Ruler, 23, Boldnesian, 24. Bold Reasoning, 25. Super Concorde, 26. Big Shuffle, 27. Areion

SO GREAT AUSTRALIAN RACE MARES IN RECENT YEARS

Listed below is the actual summary, however i can confirm that the majority of our best recent race mares have less Pharos than most. Some current stallions have 10+ lines of Pharos within their first 5 gen pedigree, which they bring to the mating.

I'm suggesting the data below for "race mares" is best when her 5 gen pedigree has less than half [7] seven lines of Pharos.

How do these names read [summary of the above]

  • Sunlight has 4

  • Asfoora has 5

  • Imperatriz has 6

  • Joliestar has 6

  • Zougotcha has 6

  • Probabeel has 6

  • Legarto has 6

  • More Joyous has 6

  • Winx has 7

  • Black Caviar has 7

  • Miss Finland has 7

  • Bella Nipotina has 7

  • Alizee has 7

  • Funstar has 7

  • pride of Jenni has 7

Here is that same table with the extension on the right, being the main lines of each "nick 19" that these great mares have in their 5 gen pedigree.

You can see the significant influence and variation of stallion lines like Fairway, Star Kingdom and Tenerani.

More detail and analysis to follow on pedigree blogs, let me know if i can assist you with data or mating plans in the future,
